Work from Home: Success and Publishing

Working from Home has it’s own rules and often means. Luckily the Internet allows most any Marketer to get high visibility according to the David and Goliath principle. Any one can do it, also without paid ads and here is the proof.

Selected keywords

We have selected two highly competitive related keywords:

1. Working from Home News with over 400,000,000 search returns.

2. Work from Home News with over 300,000,000 search returns on Google.

Selected Publishing Frameworks

We use two websites to publish the content:

1. yorgoopublishing.com

2. yorgonestoridis.com

The first being a typical Publisher, while the second is an Authors site.

Working from Home News on Google

So far we have posted 6 articles to reach the positions we hold as per now. At present we have 1 top 10 position on Working from Home News and one on Work from Home News both with YORGOO Publishing.

YorgoNestoridis.com is listed on rank 18 respectively 19.

Result achieved

So far, having published 6 posts we have managed to enter the top 10 on Google with one respectively two positions:

Working from Home News

Working from Home News

Considering the size of the respective categories and considering the publishing frameworks used we consider the result as extraordinary. A specialized publication would do better.

How to Publish a specialized Publication — Example

Fist, we choose a publishing framework whereas my preference are Semiomantics scripts of the type YORGOO Press.

Second we name the publication “Working from Home News” or “Work from Home News”; the title could be split into a main name, “Working from Home” and a sub-title “News”.

Site Map: Considering the publication like a news paper or a magazine, which can also have newsletter function, a double structure is possible: either a traditional category and sub-category structure, or a structure by dated issue, or as suggested, a double structure combining both.

The traditional category structure with slug focused URL links will help to build massive contextual content over time. The issue focused structure allows to define a mixed context at a given moment of time and to create corresponding archives which are easier to search and surf for loyal readers. Issues can be daily, weekly or monthly, whereas the post don’t need to be released all on the same date for a particular issue.

Combining both will add just a further archive to the site; important is to prevent double indexing by preventing the archive from being indexed separately and in addition to the individual posts.

First Priority: we target your main keyword until we reach top 10 on Google; once achieved, we scatter on second priority. In other terms, there is no reason to waste time on any other category until the primary objective is reached.

Or, we start by grabbing sub-categories in order to easier access the top 10 in the main keyword category on Google.

YORGOO Publishing used the first model in the above case.

We are ready to prove the Concept

Zo Nicholas has started to publish an online newspaper called “Working from Home News”. Interestingly, her efforts have not yet been honored with the expected result. Zo Nicholas permitting, we will implement the above publishing model on the Working from Home News Publication and show how professional site tuning can just make the difference. Look forward to find the YORGOO Press powered site on top of Google.

Work from Home Publishing for the bottom line

Successful publishing will contribute straight to the bottom line as traffic is generated organically without out of pocket cost. Publishing helps not only to get traffic and visibility but also to build that famous authority no ad can build.

Working from Home News

The Power of Publishing vs. Paid Ads

The internet is divided into three categories of people, Surfers, Advertisers and Publishers.

Working from Home News is a Publication and Zo Nicholas is a Publisher. In fact whoever sets up a website and makes it available online is a publisher. The advantage of being a publisher is obvious: we are the owners of pages and websites where we can lease out space to Advertisers. Advertisers are looking for popular websites which attract a targeted audience.

Working from Home has to do with Publishing; unless you do your business just within your four walls, you need to go out and make yourself, your services and products available to customers and prospects.

Publishing your website based on a blogging framework or a Content Managed System (CMS) is easy, quick and efficient. You decide upon the content of your website and you are free to sell advertising space. However, you must make sure that surfers find your site and there are two basic ways to reach visibility.

1. Advertise your website on other people’s websites

2. Aim top 10 organic positions on search engines.

What’s better, easier, cheaper and what is more efficient?

For the purpose of this argument let’s just look at Google Ads and organic top listing on the Google Search Engine.

An Ad placed on Google Search return pages is an easy solution to occupy space on Google Search Return pages; that’s however not the end of the story: the ad needs to lead to a web page either of yours or of the merchant you promote. Google Ads are paid means to reach visibility. Cost is function of the value of the keyword, the positioning of the ad and of the number of clicks it generates as well as the conversion of views to clicks.

Setting up an ad is easy by  following just the Google Wizard for this purpose. The appropriate keyword search and the market analysis are similar to the elaboration of a web page. So, in fact the task of advertising remains as difficult as to set up a web page, with the difference that you pay fro top positioning while your website may take time to reach top 10 listings or it may even never make it.

The incredible advantage of Organic Listing

Visibility is a matter of occupying space, the more the better and the space has to be well located, ideally on the first page of Google Search returns. Google search return pages have 10 organic slots on the left side and often 5 to 8 slots on the right side for Google Ads. Without entering into the discussion about which are the best slots on the page, let’s just look at the basic numbers game.

Assume the Google Search return page generates 1600 clicks per day and assume that there are 6 ads on the right side, then every slot gets on average 100 clicks daily. It’s now obvious that the more slots you occupy, the more clicks you harvest.

Click on the screen shot below to see a live example where we occupy 3 slots on the left side, occupying roughly 20% of all slots on the page. Note that the search for Working from Home News returns 444,000,000 results.

Working from Home News on Google

Working from Home News on Google

The above example shows an incredible advantage organic Google Listing can produce: you may occupy more than just one slot. In fact depending on your publishing cadence it may well be that your entry expands into two and you double thus the probability of getting clicks. YORGOO Publishing is positioned on rank 1 and two while Yorgo Nestoridis is at the bottom on rank 10, all without paying a dime for visibility and clicks.

Imagine if we could expand the bottom position as well!

The Cost of Advertising vs. the Value of Organic Listing

Under the above hypothesis, lets assume each and every ad gets 100 clicks per day. Google clicks cost minimum 5 cents, in the present case the cost for the advertisers may well be 50 cents and more per click. 100 clicks at 50 cents per click result in a daily advertising cost of $50. Multiply it with 365 to budget your yearly campaign and you end up at: $18,250 per year.

Logically and under the above assumptions, the value of each top 10 listing is the same as the cost of ads . Imagine now the value of 3 top 10 entries: 3 x $18,250 or a total of $54,750 per year.

Here comes the big two questions: can you afford advertising and harvest the full potential of Google’s traffic generation or does your budget run out after a fraction of total possible traffic has been delivered? Remember, it’s like the traffic generated from viral traffic programs: when you run out of credits, your marketing and your visibility come to a halt.

The second question: Working from Home, can you afford not to focus on Publishing?

Max out on your marketing by multiplying the slots you occupy: if you buy one ads slot and then your site grabs another slot on the organic top 10 listing, then it is as if your marketing budget is cut in half, since you get over all double the number of clicks you pay for. Or the other way around: your marketing cost per click is half of what your competitors pay, provided they just work with Google Ads.

The Dilemma for Network Marketers

Competition on a keyword increases the price as marketers will have to place higher bids to grab the best advertising positions. On the above page there are 4 (out of 6) paid ads placed by independent distributors from the same Network. Individually they compete against each other before competing with the market and they drive individual cost per click up, giving them a clear disadvantage. The individual advertisers often do not dispose of sufficient means to pay for 24/7 visibility and therefore their personal results are not satisfactory.

From a Network’s point of view, the situation is different: for as long as there is 24/7 advertising paid by individual distributors, the network as such gets the exposure and the benefit of all those small advertising budgets at no cost to the network company (or the up line distributor).

The Dilemma of these individual distributors is in fact that they often dispose only of replicated web sites and other replicated advertising materials imposed by the Merchant or by the up line organization. These replications are totally Google inefficient on an individual level as Google will not list them. Distributors have thus no alternative than to participate in joint advertising campaigns. Drop-outs are the logic consequence and a logic consequence is also further recruiting for new distributors taking the place of the drop-outs.

There is only one viable solution to the problem: Individual Distributors must publish in a customized and search engine efficient way to maximize the impact of their advertising Dollars and efforts.

Work from Home News

Online Publishing the key to successful Marketing from Home

NY — The traditional push-marketing techniques used a few years ago are out, pull marketing techniques prove to be more cost efficient. The Work from Home Industry needs to adapt to the new environment.

Working from Home Status Quo

An article published a few days ago about Working from Home News, a newspaper style publication by Zo Nicholas who actually is working from home, highlights the most important criteria for efficient marketing. It becomes namely clear that the good old splash pages, landing pages and aggressive push strategies do not create the goodwill necessary for optimized conversion.

The above article found its way to Google and sits on top of the Working from Home News Listing. Have a look at the screen shot below by clicking on it:

Work From Home

Observing the above we notice namely that the big boys such as BBC, ABC, The New York Times and CNN have a stronghold on “Working from Home News” as they have on most News related keywords. The fact that YORGOO Publishing can beat them and grab a keyword with over 400 million search returns shows that any Worker from Home can attract top attention on Google without having to spend on Google Ads for every Click received.

The picture shows YORGOO Publishing on the left side on top of the organic listing while competitors advertise on the right side. This is a typical representation of a situation which will have to evolve in the near future, namely for cost reasons.

The top ad leads to one of these typical capture pages Multi-Level Marketing Networks promote amongst their troupes.

The advantage of paid ads

Paid Google Ads present a few undeniable advantages. The advertiser decides where they are placed and on which search terms they will be found on a defined position. Second an advertiser shows to searchers his interest in the business by the fact that he puts money into advertising. Paid ads present another advantage, namely for network organizations: the top Networkers recommend to their downline troupes to contribute to a joint marketing effort to profit from synergies.

The disadvantages of paid ads

The first and most important disadvantage is the cost. Organic listing triggers hits and visitors to most often authority sites at no cost. Competitors relying on paid ads only start the race with a financial disadvantage which impacts on the bottom line.

The second disadvantage is — and this is the contrary of the above argument — ads prove often a lack of authority. Namely in the Work from Home related categories, the advertiser has absolutely no personal traceable authority in what he is the object of the promotion. Ads often lead to replicated standard capture pages with no actual information content. Information becomes only available after opting into a mailing list. People have become more cautious about opting-in in general.

An organically high ranking site inspires authority, recognized by a third party, the search engine in this case.

Networkers generally contribute to a common advertising effort with individual budgets. These budgets are in most cases too small to allow reasonable expectations for individual success. This leads to the situation where mainly or only the upline Networkers profit most from these small individual advertising budgets which cumulatively result in a statistically tangible result.

The individual advertiser’s only choice is to find further downline contributors to achieve a global budget which will result in successful campaigns: in networking it means: you need to recruit for the purpose of finding people paying for your marketing efforts (one of the unsatisfactory sides of MLM).

Contrary what many advertisers may think, AdWords are not an easy strategy. From Google’s point of you, it’s about placing bids on keywords. From the advertiser’s point of view it’s a matter of knowing exactly the keywords, traffic, competition, placement of the ads and much more. Advertisers who play roulette with Google Ads will abandon as soon as their budgets run out without significant results. Successful use of Google ads requires knowledge, know-how and very close tracking to gather experience. The issue has become so complex by now, that many advertisers resolve to out-source their market analysis, analysis, target analysis, competitor assessment and customer profiling which increases cost further.

Diversified Work from Home Marketing Strategies

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle: organic listing, high page ranking and paid ads combined are the best choice. One of the reasons is the numbers game on Google search results: The above search result features a page with 10 organic listings and 3 ads; that’s 13 entries competing for the traffic the page generates. By adding an add to Organic listing, YORGOO Publishing could double the chances to harvest traffic. There is obviously more to it, such as the position of the listing and the ads as well as the wording and apparent descriptive tags of the concerned sites.

The New criteria for successful Marketing

Abstract, anonymous and impulsive buying in the cold market are on the decline and over the recent years it has become obvious that buyers are looking for references of authority and trustworthiness before buying from an unknown seller, brand or merchant. Affiliate or Referral Marketing are good examples for the changed environment:

Today there are two models which are successful:

1. You promote a very strong Brand with a Product and Company Reputation perceived as such by a large public, for example Apple’s iPhone, or Sony Ericson’s Cybershot mobile phones. In this case it is enough to drive traffic to the merchant’s website through a reliable affiliate link, for example Amazon, Commission Junction or similar.

2. You promote a less or unknown product; in this case you must brand yourself and sell to targets where your authority or trustworthiness is recognized (personal relations mainly, built offline or online on social networks for example).

Using the first model, you still have a chance to work with Google Ads exclusively.

The second model is where the trends point to: it’s less about what you sell but from whom you buy or who recommended to buy which product. Mind control strategies in marketing have no long term effect if product quality and customer care do not live up to expectations. Long term effects are customer loyalty, returning customers, in fact, long term effects include growing income, reduction of cost per item sold an so on, the only way to build a sustainable income stream from any business.

The trends point in general to referral marketing: it’s not the company going out selling it’s products but it’s individuals, opinion leaders, social animals and such like who trigger an increasing number of sales based on the quality of relations they entertain with a multitude of potential consumers.

The One Single Most Important Rule

Working from Home is a future oriented concept and for many a dream come true. There is how ever one rule to observe to give a Work from Home effort the best chance:

Never promote a product or company which cannot show a clean record, reputation or positive brand and product recognition!

Example: MLM has in may countries a bad reputation and the reception by the public can be extremely mixed, which does not make your life easier. Products from MLM companies often suffer from the bad reputation of MLM as such, which does not make your life easier. MLM companies are about always associated with scams, fraud and other negative search results, which does not make your life easier.

If you are involved with a Company where the search results can discourage your prospect customers or business associates, insist upon the merchant that the necessary efforts are made to build a clean online image. This may cost some money, but it’s the only way to give the business as such a chance online and to witness active support to the sales force, distributors, associates and consumers. Sponsoring People, sports Aces is a waste of moneys if on the Google search return the words scam and fraud appear on the top 10 or 20 listings. Such a business has not much of a future online.

You cannot afford to pay for the online image of a Company or Merchant, better change the business and work with serious, online image conscious partners with whom you are proud to associate your own image and reputation.

The question is not whether the highly visible scam or fraud mentions are justified, the question is, how do they impact on your business. Unfortunately a bad reputation online is very difficult to eradicate the more that the traces will always remain visible and available to searchers. Data online is like a part of a genetic code, it cannot be modified on the original.

The safest Way to build Home Business

The safest way to build a Home Business is to brand yourself and to build your authority and own reputation. Your authority will always sell and if the product or merchant you promote loses the reputation, you switch product and or merchant. You will not have to worry about abandoning a merchant since what sells is your reputation and your reputation will grow on a courageous decision to abandon while it will suffer if you continue to associate your name to a reputation which does not live up to your relations expectations.

Working from Home means Publishing

In view of the above it becomes obvious that tomorrow’s worker from home will spend more time and effort to market his personal image and brand by building a clean online reputation. Social Networks can be part of such a strategy but personal authority web sites inspire more confidence and are more efficient on search engines. A blog is a good start. Online Publishing becomes a daily task which to learn Workers from Home are well advised. Ycademy Online Seminars have a solid reputation in the matter (contact Bianca Gubalke at bianca(at)ycademy.com).

Working from Home News on Google

YN — Working from Home is an important keyword on all big search engines. On Google there are over 100 million search returns on Working from Home. If you add to it the word “news” and make it “Working from Home News”, Google returns over 400 Million results.

Interestingly on the News related Working from Home term, there are next to no advertisers. Work from Home and Working from Home are the privileged keywords of the traditional Home Business Industry.

Zo Nicholas’ Publication, Working from Home News is full of interesting content for Work from Home Aficionados. One of the reasons is in the fact that Zo has a huge experience and knowledge which she is willing to share on her site.

Lack of knowledge, lack of experience means loss of time and money. Most home business developers commit the same errors, namely when it comes to online marketing. Take the shortcut and pass by Zo’s site to improve your online performance, it’s worth while.

Working from Home News on Google

Working from Home News on Google

(Note there are 441,000,000 search returns and we aim top 10)

One of the most important tips I found on Working from Home News is: start working on your own visibility instead of just booking Google Ads. Google Ads are a great tool, however they are extremely expensive when they are not accompanied by an attractive landing site. Note: it’s not a landing page but a landing site!

Lead generation has changed over time and while a simple pop-up with an ‘opt-in here’ box was enough a few years ago, we need today more sophisticated tools and environments which inspire confidence and trust.

What the Feedback records do for EBay sellers, do Google rankings and listings for most other environments. A bought spot on Google’s top 10 page of the targeted keyword can never be the equivalent to an authority site on the organic top 10 listing on the same page.

Replicated landing pages have become about useless and yet some people have only realized since we have an economic crises that you need a landing page at all instead of sending people directly to a product or business page. Sorry to say, but you have missed the train and you are just about to miss the next train.

Today the world is shaped by social networks. Users of Facebook and such like are used to a certain comfort and an attractive interactive environment, for most the only way to imagine socializing online. Sending Facebook users to a landing page with traditional “work from home fire your boss” slogans is inefficient and a waste of time. To the contrary, it’s destructive when it comes to the relations you have built in your social network.

We have been running permanent tests on advertising online for over 5 years and from our own experience we know that advertising is not a one-way road and it is not a war you can fight with just one arm.

Nowadays we need to combine our strategies in a much more thought through way to use our advertising dollars in the best possible way. The single one strategy with an increasingly growing importance is your personal authority outside of the social network environment. Business is not done and deals are not closed on social networks but in your own external environment. Your website must therefore beat Facebook anytime!

Social Media Marketing is about meeting people in social networks and getting them out of the social network to close a deal. It only works if you provide an inspiring site, a site which confirms and builds additional trust and confidence.

Objective bench marks about how trustworthy you are, are nonexistent except if you can show positive feedback (blog comments), independent editorials about you on Google (looking up the site owners name on Google, the suggested business opportunity’s company name and related topics) and yet that is just an indication. You may try to look at performance records, visible presence, and more and yet nothing will ever equal the personal experience people have with you by dealing with you OVER TIME.

Having said the above, we can deduct that online you have many entries, many places you go to and you communicate through; but in the end you have only one reputation to lose. The same is true for your business opportunity. Mixed reputation records are the best killer of a business online; would you buy from a seller with a positive feed-back record of 70% only on EBay?

Or, would you join a business where 3 out of the top 10 Google entries talk about spam, lawsuits or fraud? You probably would not even join if 90% only are flawless. Think about EBay’s standards where over 98% of the feed backs need to be positive to keep Power Seller status.

How about if Google creates even a recommended search category for Scam under your business name, or if you are claiming to sell ‘natural’ food supplements and Google comes up with a recommended search for side effects or another doubt inspiring category ‘does it work’?

Would you sign up with a company corresponding to the above profile? Seriously?

Herbalife

Herbalife fullfills all the above criteria; would you sign up after consulting Google?

Herbalife Image on Google

Herbalife Image on Google

My point is not to judge Herbalife here or to take position about the quality of any products or business opportunities. My point is: the internet is one big town and you have only one reputation to preserve or to lose. If you are suffering from a mixed image, your reputation is harmed. Some companies and individuals do not attach enough importance to their image online and wonder why their popularity online is not what it appears to be in a closed vase environment offline.

Would you want to associate your name with a company or business opportunity which shows signs of hampered reputation on the most simple Google search returns? Can you afford to spend your time and money to fix the reputation of your Merchant and to convince your prospects and customers that what they see online ‘is not true’; can you really afford it?

The real issue is that Your Reputation and the perceivable reputation of the Business you represent or are a distributor of will impact directly on your sales figures. Herbalife is probably not an online opportunity, otherwise they would take care of their online reputation. The strategy is: grab people online and drag them to a low-tech one to one environment to close deals. The internet in any case would not help here as transparency becomes a stumbling block.

The way to sell is by selling yourself first. Don’t count on anyone else. Your reputation sells and with your reputation you sell anything! A modern Working from Home enterprise has the absolute freedom to choose sell any product or service to sell: sales are linked to YOUR relationships and less on the reputation of the merchant or the product you sell. The power is on your side not on the merchant: I therefore cannot understand, how so called business opportunities where you have to pay for a license, can survive, if elsewhere the wind has turned long ago to a situation where you are paid to promote a company or their products instead of having to pay for doing so.

Working from Home is a brilliant idea. Be proud to belong to this industry; the sales power is with you and depends on the relationships you are able to build online or offline. The rest is secondary.

Working from Home News will provide you with information, ideas and inspiration, a great site with great content!

“Working from Home” and “Work from Home” are some of the very competitive areas together with “Home Business” where it is not easy to grab a top seat. However we will aim for top 10 positions with at least two of our sites.

Under Work from Home News we made it to rank 32 of 345,000,000! Not bad either for just one article.

21 Leerders van  Hoërskool Punt behaal A- Gemiddelde Simbole

Kitching. Daar was ook 295 B’s en 345 C’s.
