Their clubhouse offers one of the few restaurants in George with a country atmosphere. The restaurant offers comfortable seating and a fire place for those cold winter days. The large deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a drink or meal with the splendor of the Outeniqua Mountains in the background.

The menu offers a variety ranging from breakfasts, pub lunches and other snacks. Popular items on the menu include the homemade burgers and various platters and baskets. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you can also enjoy mouth watering pizzas baked in a wood fired pizza oven.  Watch your favourite sporting event on one of the TV screens in the restaurant.

Garden Route Short Golf Course

The well maintained 9-hole short or mashie course overlooking the Outeniqua Mountains offers a variety of water features and hazards.  This Garden Route Short Golf Course is suitable for everyone from the beginner to the experienced golfer.  The total length of this short golf course is 2400m. Equipment is available for rental. Monthly Club Competitions are held on the first Saturday of each month, all welcome!

Summer garden flowers

Early to late spring you begin to see your little garden waking from its winter slumber, little shoots here and there appearing out of the ground testing the air to see if the conditions are right to come forth and take center stage in the garden. It’s quite exciting to watch as each shoot develops into something more recognisable and you see that you haven’t lost a friend during the winter months after all. One of those beautiful summer flowering garden plants we didn’t lose over the long winter months was the Peony.

Peony

A Peony or Peaony  looks spectacular in a garden border when in full bloom. With their big heavy flowering heads they often need staking to prevent them falling on the ground. They are not too difficult to grow either if planted in full sun. Our peony is  just in front of the back hedge which provides a little shade when the sun starts to go down.

This year the conditions must have been perfect for the Peony as it has produced some spectacular flower heads. In general, peonies prefer a well-drained, slightly alkaline soil and you can easily propagate them by diving the root (crown) in the autumn.
