U Q Me or From P2 to Q

Vouliagmeni, March 23, 2009 — by Yorgo Nestoridis, Semiomantics

WordPress’ public release of P2 is expected to take place this coming or the week after. We have given a shot at P2, WP’s Microblogging Theme and adapted it to Semiomantics for testing purposes.

U Q Me
U Q Me

The Theme is a sort of a Twitter based on WordPress and designed to allow teams or groups of people to communicate rapidly and efficiently. It appears like a mix between a blog and a chat. There is still room for serious content but the tool is targeting people who are looking for rapid communication and interactivity.

Semiomantics is working on increased interactivity for future frameworks and U Q Me is a testing playground for the project.
The test site is set up HERE

Try it out and imagine how such a cool tool could be used to increase the online experience of visitors to your site. Suggestions are welcome.

A fast optimized Site Script

Vouliagmeni, March 23, 2009, by Yorgo Nestoridis and Semiomantics

From time to time WordPress releases Themes which are only available in the WP hosted Blog solutions. Most of them become sooner or later available as official Theme Releases in the WordPress Theme Archive.

Two themes have recently attracted our attention and we have adapted them to fit the requirements of Semiomantics Scripts. There is namely a multi-style very fast loading theme with a flexible lay-out which we call the YORGOO Art Theme, as it has just this touch visitors perceive as artistic.

The Site should appeal to black-and-white lovers for its simplicity. Other advantage: most of the customization is handled from the Admin Dashboard; there is no need to access the script via FTP to fit in ads, banners or other add-ons such as header or footer scripts.YORGOO Art 1

The lay-out can be configured to show or not to show featured articles; these can be shown as unique column articles as featured here or as 2 column posts, whereas tqo featured articles will be shown in a 2 column lay-out.

The same applies for the following posts; at your choice, the display can be mono or bi-column.

Images attached to the posts via custom field are automatically re-sized to fit the requirements of the lay-out.

And as usual you find the touch of Zibog Roy as on other Sites, such as Bianca Gubalke’s personalized YORGOO Blaster :-). And as often Zibog Roy went for ‘Subversion’ to grab the theme to let Semiomantics Customers profit before the wide public can put its hands to the official release which is expected to be included in one of the next WP Theme releases. By the time of the official release, our tuned version will already fly on top of Google.

Please note also that on the home page we show 1 featured post and about 20 excerpts which load surprisingly fast. The ads in the sidebar are widgetized while the Free Traffic ad in the main column is straight code in the main script.

Have a look at it HERE and leave a comment as the case may be.
