Online Business: The Online Business Idea

In our series about how to Build an Online Business we have started lining out some basics. Now we need to lay down the business idea we want to implement. Based on the Business Idea we will elaborate a Plan and then Implement the plan.

This series of articles features a live experience in real time. I have no clue about the out come but I will use all my experience and know-how to bring the business to fruition using all the means at disposal.

The Online Business Idea

I would like to create a business in a geographically limited area far from my home country. I have identified local needs for products and services and I am convinced that my products and services are highly competitive in the selected market.

The Target Area

To build my online Business I target South Africa, a country where liberalization of communication systems and Internet is still in its beginning, preventing thus locals from accessing cost efficient solutions for the use and exploitation of the Internet. While country wide campaigning may be too heavy of a charge, we may want to select a first target area for the pilot project.

The Products and Services

Products will be within the global scope of Web Services with special focus on:

- web hosting

- domain hosting for international domain names

- publishing

- marketing

- social networking

- online shopping

- online education

- customer care

The Online Business Structure

To follow the above order we need:

1. A Web Hosting Service for South Africa

2. Domain Hosting for International Domains

3. A Publishing Network

4. A Marketing Team or Partners

5. A Product Line for Publishing and Advertising

6. A Social Network

7. Education

8. Customer Care

9. A shopping area

The whole business will be vertically and horizontally integrated. A Business site will serve as portal to access all services and products offered.

The Online Business Model

The business will provide free services to a wide public to develop Internet penetration and to give access to a wide public to the benefits of the Internet.

Consumers will largely be able to access services for free; the business plan is to be financed by advertisers as well as by users who may need and purchase additional services, whereas we will apply pricing corresponding to international standards; our study shows that web services in South Africa are sold at 2–10 times higher rates than what we are used to in the global market.

Local Partners

Knowledge about the local environment are of paramount importance for the success of the business. It is therefore necessary to acquire such knowledge, ideally by entering local partnerships.

The next Step

Once the idea in place, we need to budget the operation and establish a feasibility study where we will compare our means with our ambitions.

New Look with Semiomantics Thesis

A new look with Semiomantics Thesis – that’s just one of the amazing results after the past weekend’s Ycademy Seminar October 2010 – with a focus on upgrading our brains and out Semiomantics Author Blogs with the latest cutting-edge technology – the best of WordPress Thesis combined with the best of Semiomantics XO!

Bianca Gubalke Author Blog on Semiomantics with WordPress Thesis

New Look with Semiomantics Thesis

The New Look with Semiomantics Thesis is largely created through a series of ‘hooks’ to which we can hook what today’s and tomorrow’s Internet consumers request: basically media content containers, be it widgets, rotators or banners etc.

Bearing in mind that our website or blog occupies what can be called the most precious ‘real estate’ online, the new technology offers us ways to captivate readers and potential customers with more attention-grabbing possibilities.

This can be seen from our point-of-view in terms of Website Development, however, as many bloggers don’t want to be bothered with anything ‘technical’, we can now offer ways where our customers simply focus on what they know best: blogging about their products and selling them. This is a huge step forward that must be welcomed by many who wish to have a blog and they like the idea of blogging – but bringing in images and media content is not their thing. This we can solve easily for them as Semiomantics Web Design experts!

Header Banner Rotator in Thesis

While all this sounds easy – there is tremendous learning to be done first as this new development requires a different approach and way of thinking.

What I have been focusing on today is inserting rotating pictures into my MultiMedia Box and creating a header banner rotator in Thesis based on excellent tutorials offered HERE.

While I do have a problem with my menu that doesn’t display what I want… yet… the rest went absolutely spot-on and smoothly! Let’s see where tonight’s Training will take us!

To be continued. . .

On the Rising Arc

As we are going through a time of extreme chaos that leaves hardly anyone unaffected in one or another way, we find the most profound stronghold within ourselves, simply by listening inside and establishing whether our motivation or purpose in life is driven by ego or higher ideals. It’s not a matter of judging; rather an observation from another perspective to become crystal clear on our belief. From there all decisions flow… and  “… In the end there is only one reliable guide: Find your place on the rising arc and keep moving.”

On the Rising Arc - Photo by Bianca Gubalke

On the Rising Arc

The important point here is that – once we found our place on the rising arc – we keep moving! As everything we observe around us – be it in Nature or on the Internet – is moving faster, what makes us believe that we don’t have to speed up as well – from the smallest atom spiralling within us to our perception of who we are – and we are in no way static but in a rather tumultuous state right now? Time to realize that things won’t stay the same: constant change is inevitable.

So why resist? Why not look through the big illusion and opt for higher ideals? Only when our ego resists what we feel is right do we create a problem… a blockage of Chi – and Chi needs to flow freely.

Change

Time for Change!

Look at the moon on the rising arc of Chapman’s Peak in Noordhoek, South Africa; let its bright light guide your path in the direction of your intent! Is it material? Is it intelligence? Is it at all? Is it you? Are you it as the observer?

It’s all a matter of perception… so keep moving!

“When light is visible and organized into concrete objects, reality is material.

When light contains feeling, thought, and intelligence, reality is quantum.

When light is completely unmanifest, with no qualities anyone can measure, reality is virtual.” ~ Deepak Chopra
